Chair of Experimental Physics

About

Markus Sondermann received his PhD from the University of Münster in 2004 for a dissertation on nonlinear dynamics of semiconductor lasers. After a postdoc at the Institute of Physiology of the University of Freiburg, where Markus Sondermann worked on combining electro-physiology and microscopy methods, he moved to Erlangen in 2007 and joined the former Chair of Optics.
Since then, Markus Sondermann has been working on the coupling of light and matter by focusing light from full solid angle with a parabolic mirror.
With the recent change in the research direction of the Chair of Experimental Physics, M.S. expands his scientific portfolio into the realm of superconducting quantum systems.
